A graduate of the University of Oregon's Business school, Michael Henningsen began his business career in 1985, when he joined Wells Fargo Bank as a Commercial Loan Officer. In 1988, having completed his MBA, Mr. Henningsen joined his family's cold storage business as Systems Manager, becoming the fourth generation of Henningsen's in the privately held family company.


In 1991, Mr. Henningsen, who is the great grandson of the company founder, was promoted to General Manager of the Forest Grove warehouse, a post he held for five years. In 1996, he assumed the role of Vice President of Warehouse Operations. In 1999, Mr. Henningsen became President and Chairman of the growing organization.


A very active and visible figure in the cold storage and logistics industry, Mr. Henningsen has chaired several committees of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) in Alexandria, Virginia. He also returns annually to the WFLO Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, where he serves as a faculty member at the industry's three year training program. He recently completed his Chairmanship of the IARW in 2009 and, prior to that, chaired the WFLO.


At home, in Oregon, Mr. Henningsen has served on Boards of the American Red Cross, Tuality Hospital and Pacific University and served as president of the City of Forest Grove, Oregon Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He has been active in Junior Achievement since 1985, where he continues as classroom instructor.
