Henningsen Facilities Receive US Customs Approval

(Hillsboro, Ore.) April 7, 2011 - Henningsen Cold Storage facilities in Portland and Forest Grove, Oregon, Grand Forks, North Dakota and Scranton, Pennsylvania have become US Customs Bonded warehouses.

The new service adds to the growing number of import/export services offered by Henningsen including container drayage, container unloading & loading, FDA inspection services, USDA import/export inspection services, import/export documentation, cross dock services, HAACP program, custom packaging, real time inventory control, and freight consolidation.

Customs bonded warehouses are used by a variety of importers and exporters including brokers and freight forwarders. Customers can import perishable and dry products to one of Henningsen's approved facilities and keep the goods in storage prior to paying import duties to the US Government.

Shipments received in bond can also be sorted, repacked, or changed into some other non-manufacturing condition before being released or re-exported out of the country. Once released, Henningsen can coordinate outbound transportation of the goods to either a port or its final domestic destination point.

In the United States, goods may remain in the bonded warehouse up to five years from the date of importation.
