Henningsen Cold Storage Opens New Pacific Northwest Distribution Center
(Portland, Ore) September 1, 2008 - Henningsen Cold Storage Co. is pleased to announce that its new 5 million cubic foot temperature controlled Logistics Center is now open.
The facility is located in the Portland suburb of Gresham, less than one mile from Henningsen’s existing Portland operation. Phase 1 offers 18,000 pallet positions, with a variety of configurations and temperature ranges. The facility is designed specifically for high-volume throughput, with a flexible racking design and layout enabling Henningsen to meet a variety of customer requirements including case-pick consolidation and cross docking of temperature-controlled food products.
This new facility reinforces Henningsen’s commitment to responsible building practices and offers the latest in green innovations including; refrigeration with variable speed motors, motion lighting, TPO roofing which reflects heat to help keep our rooms cooler, without additional energy consumption and drought tolerant landscaping.
Executive Vice President, Tony Lucarelli said, “Henningsen has paid special attention to our green foot print while building this distribution center and we are excited that it is the new standard for the cold logistics industry.”
