In 1975, Henningsen Cold Storage sealed its commitment to serve the warehousing and distribution needs of the fruit and vegetable industry in the Willamette and Tualatin Valleys of Oregon by constructing a new facility. We have expanded the facility to more than four times its original size, which now totals more than 4.8 million cubic feet. While still serving local production warehousing needs, our Forest Grove warehouse facility serves as a consolidation point for many products produced outside of the region that are destined for either export shipments or distribution to all major cities in the Pacific Northwest.
In late 2006, Henningsen added a new business center to its portfolio with the purchase of an adjacent 80,000 square foot dry warehouse and 20,000 square feet of first class office space. The new business center is an ideal place for light industrial, distribution or call center activities for local, regional, national and international companies. The business-friendly community of Forest Grove boasts some of the area's lowest operating costs, including power and water as well as an ample skilled labor force. Including this new 8.5 acre property, which is large enough that it can be expanded to add an additional 90,000 square foot building. Additionally, this location offers 25 acres of prime, industrial property for development or allied industry use or purchase.
